Job Summary Responsible for planning and designing new software applications. Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. Oversees the documentation and software best practices of all development activities. Trains and mentors both technical and non-technical personnel. Assists with defining and tracking performance metrics. Provides guidance and support to other Engineers. About the Role: The Senior Principal Software Engineer is required to be a DOCSIS subject matter expert (SME) and a strong practitioner of the modern data science techniques. The core responsibilities include research, design and develop software solution algorithms, and machine learning models to enhance the system resiliency and availability. This is for a lead role for developing cloud native microservice architecture applications in terms of architecture and requirement definition and oversee feature development. What You’ll Do: Write tested, production-ready code Participate in design and architecture sessions Build effective deployment and monitoring systems Support production environments Perform code reviews Participate in software release and deployment activities managed under an agile software development approach Collaborate constructively with team members Skills & Experience We’re Looking For: 5+ years of experience in DOCSIS, and well versed in the CableLabs' DOCSIS specifications Excellent coder in rust, go-lang, and python programming languages In-depth knowledge and familiarity with data lake, data warehouse, ETL techniques, statistical analysis, OR tools, and machine learning In-depth knowledge and familiarity with NoSQL or Time-Series database such as MongoDB, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, etc. Additional “Nice to Have” Skills & Experience: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience Experience in any of the following: Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes Good current knowledge of Unix/Linux environments Experience in code optimization and high-performance computing Experience in Test-driven development/test automation, continuous integration, and deployment automation Good communicator, able to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues and technologies understandably and engagingly Great design and problem-solving skills, with a strong bias for architecting at scale. Adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership Keen attention to detail and high level of commitment Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment. Relevant Work Experience 15 Years + Salary: Pay Range: This job can be performed in Denver Campus with a Pay Range of $176,953.13 - $265,429.69 Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
